The (Former) General in his Labyrinth - by Mohsin Hamid
This rich and complex story by Mohsin Hamid uses an entirely new form of branching storytelling to allow readers to explore the memories of an ageing, and not quite fictional, general.

Chapter 7: Contemporary Literature
The Citicorp Centre (Citigroup Center)
What first strikes the eye of the Citigroup Center in New York City, is the 45 degree angle top of the building. What is even more astonishing, however, is the base of the building which is raised on four columns like stilts. In one corner of the building stands St Peter’s Church.
In the foreground of the photo is the bronze and glass-covered Seagram building which is considered the finest example of the International Style of architecture whose trademark was clarity and simplicity.
