Work with Victorian architecture

The Bridgeman Art Library

Exercise

1. Choose a type of building – e.g. bridge, church, private house, museum, government building etc. – and find Victorian examples. What do they have in common? Prepare to tell the class of your findings.

2. Which modern buildings connected with transport do you know well? Do they aim to impress or create a relaxed atmosphere? Do they aim to please the eye or just be practical? Which ones do you like or dislike? Discuss.
